Bob Saget became one of the most recognisable faces on American television in the late 1980s through his role as Danny Tanner, the warm and somewhat neurotic widowed father in the ABC family sitcom Full House (1987-1995). His portrayal of a San Francisco television journalist raising three daughters with help from his brother-in-law and best friend made him a beloved figure in American family entertainment.

...Saget also hosted America's Funniest Home Videos from 1989 to 1997, making him a ubiquitous presence on American television. In sharp contrast to his wholesome TV persona, his stand-up comedy was famously adult and irreverent. After Full House, he reprised the role of Danny Tanner in the Netflix revival Fuller House (2016-2020). He passed away suddenly in January 2022, mourned by millions of fans worldwide.
