Hugo Myatt is a British actor who became a cult figure in 1980s children's television through his role as Treguard, the brooding Dungeon Master in ITV's groundbreaking adventure game show Knightmare, which first aired on CITV on 7 September 1987. Created by Tim Child, Knightmare was unlike anything else on British television: a blindfolded contestant navigated a fantasy dungeon guided only by teammates watching on a monitor, while Myatt's Treguard provided atmospheric commentary and cryptic clues. His deep, authoritative voice and imposing presence made Treguard one of the most memorable characters in children's TV history.
... Hugo Myatt appeared in all eight series of Knightmare from 1987 to 1994, and the show attracted a devoted following that persists to this day, with fan communities and retrospectives celebrating its innovative use of early computer graphics and blue-screen technology. Away from Knightmare, Myatt has had a varied career in theatre and television, including appearances in various British dramas. He has remained closely associated with the Knightmare legacy, participating in reunion events and interviews that have introduced the show to new generations of fans.
