John Stamos became a teen idol and household name in the late 1980s through his role as Jesse Katsopolis, the cool, Elvis-loving musician uncle in the ABC family sitcom Full House (1987-1995). His dark good looks, natural charm, and musical ability made Jesse one of the show's most popular characters, and Stamos became one of the most recognisable faces of late-1980s American television.
...Stamos had previously appeared in the daytime soap opera General Hospital (1982-1984) before Full House launched him to prime-time stardom. He is also an accomplished drummer and has performed with The Beach Boys on numerous occasions. After Full House, he continued to work in television and theatre, reprising his role as Jesse in Fuller House (2016-2020). He remains one of the most enduring figures from the era.
