Katey Sagal became a household name in the late 1980s through her role as Peg Bundy, the lazy, big-haired, affectionate yet neglectful wife of Al Bundy in the Fox sitcom Married... with Children (1987-1997). Her portrayal of a woman who had entirely abandoned domestic responsibility in favour of watching television and spending her husband's money was a gleefully subversive take on the American housewife.
...Sagal had worked as a backing vocalist and singer before her acting career took off, singing with Bette Midler and Bob Dylan among others. After Married... with Children, she starred in 8 Simple Rules (2002-2005) and Sons of Anarchy (2008-2014), for which she won a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Drama Series. She remains one of the most versatile actresses of her generation.
