Noel Edmonds is one of the most prolific and versatile broadcasters in British television history. After establishing himself as a Radio 1 DJ in the 1970s, he became a major TV star in the 1980s, hosting a string of successful BBC programmes. Telly Addicts, which he launched on BBC1 in September 1985, ran for 13 years and saw family teams compete against each other on their knowledge of television programmes. He also presented The Late Late Breakfast Show (1982–1986) and The Time of Your Life, cementing his position as one of the BBC's most bankable light entertainment stars.

... Noel Edmonds' career reached its zenith with Noel's House Party (1991–1999), which attracted audiences of up to 15 million viewers and introduced the nation to Mr Blobby. He later reinvented himself with Deal or No Deal on Channel 4 (2005–2016), one of the most successful game shows of the 2000s. Edmonds also owned the Telly Addicts format, making him one of the few British TV presenters to have a significant financial stake in his own shows. He remains one of the most recognisable figures in the history of British light entertainment.
