Shalamar was an American R&B and soul group that became one of the most successful and influential acts of the late 1970s and early 80s. The group's classic lineup featuring Jody Watley, Howard Hewett, and Jeffrey Daniel was central to the 'Solar Records' sound and the early 80s dance-pop movement. Jeffrey Daniel also famously introduced the moonwalk to the UK. Shalamar successfully blended R&B, soul, and disco, earning them international fame and a lasting place in music history.
